Child Dedication is a special time when parents publicly commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus Christ. In the Foursquare Church, dedication is not baptism, but a prayerful act of thanksgiving, asking God's blessing, wisdom, and protection over the child while the church family commits to encourage and support the family in their spiritual journey. Child dedication follows the example of Mary and Joseph presenting Jesus to the Lord (Luke 2:22) and reminds us that every child is a precious gift from God.
